AFTERCARE NAILS

We take every care in the salon to ensure that your new nails will last but it's important that you look after them between appointments too. Massage cuticle oil and hand moisturiser in every day. This will nourish the root of the natural nail allowing it to produce stronger, more flexible and non-flaky natural nails. You can purchase anti-aging cuticle serum at Color Box or from our online shop

Nails are jewels not tools! Gel & acrylic are great for strengthening your nails but they will not make them indestructible. Take as much care as you would with your natural nails, and beware when it comes to ring pulls on drinks and car doors!

Your acrylic nails will continue to polymerise for 24 hours and will only be fully set after this time period, please be gentle with them and avoid soaking them in water or being involved in any strenuous activity.

Do not soak hands in water for long periods of time. This will cause lifting & take care around extreme heat or naked flames as nail extensions may melt.

We advise you leave no longer than 2-3 weeks between appointments, nails will become weaker as the product grows out and will start to lift and break after this time due to wear & tear and incorrect structure. Do not miss your regular maintenance appointments to ensure your nails stay looking at their best.

If any adverse reaction occurs: rash, redness, inflammation of any kind around the nails please contact your doctor immediately.

Do not pick or peel product from your nails as this will remove the upper layer of your natural nails and cause damage, which can sometime be painful and leave them very thin. Avoid home repairs or removals - you could cause a lot more damage than you realise. Make an appointment with one of our nail technicians to keep your natural nails in good condition.

If lifting can be seen please contact us as water and dirt can find its way under the gel/acrylic nail and cause an infection.

Dyes/tints in food, beauty & hair products cause discolouration. Wear gloves or clean nails after use and be careful when using suntan oils/repellents as some formulations can cause damage to gel polish

Avoid drying chemicals like alcohol or bleach in beauty & cleaning products. Use protective gloves for housework, gardening and DIY etc as household chemicals will strip natural nails and the skin of natural oils, thus, affecting it's look and condition.

Regular nail polish can be applied over the gel polish if you wish to change the colour temporarily, and can be removed with non-acetone nail polish remover without affecting the gel underneath. Always use a base coat to avoid yellowing.

AFTERCARE WAXING

At Color Box Wellness Spa hygiene has always been a priority, we understand the waxing business upside down so rest assured we use all PPE, minimal contact (it’s strip free wax) and deep cleansing in between sessions.

Before the Waxing Experience

First, make sure the time that you are waxing is optimal! This means avoiding the days immediately before you get your period; your body can be more sensitive during that time. And, as always, consider exfoliating for a week before your waxing; this can help to prepare the area for an easier process. Timing appropriately and exfoliating are two tips that make waxing, especially bikini/brazilian waxing, less painful.

After the Waxing Experience

Appropriate care for your body, post waxing, can help alleviate soreness or sensitivity. We recommend avoiding hot showers after waxing as the heat tends to dry out your skin. Also, don’t forget to moisturize; hydrated skin is usually less painful. Finally, watch your schedule, working out or going to the gym immediately after waxing can be a bad idea!

Learn About the Products You can Use

The products you choose to use, both before and during the process, can affect your waxing experience. Using the best wax and high-quality pre-wax self-care products as we do helps result in a virtually painless experience.

What To Plan Before a body wax or Brazilian Hot Waxing experience at Color Box

1- Don’t shave for three weeks. Your hair needs to be a certain length for waxing to work well. How long does hair have to be to wax exactly? At least as tall as a grain of rice. If you didn’t pay attention and let it grow too long, don’t worry we will trim it for you, unless it is really unruly then you are more than welcome to do a little trim before your appointment.

2- Come in clean and exfoliated for your appointment. It’s both courteous and effective. Sweat and ingrown hairs are enemies of a great waxing experience.

3- Stay hydrated. It’s good for the skin and will actually help open up the pores. So don’t drink too much alcohol the night before and see if you can push coffee until afterward, as coffee and alcohol dehydrate. Emptying your bladder before the wax session can also be helpful and more comfortable for you.

4 – We offer an exclusive hot wax blend that is virtually painless. It’s gentle to the skin and the most effective in the market. Yes, all your unwanted hair will be removed! You can consider to take a painkiller around an hour before your session to easy the potential discomfort. During the waxing itself, try to relax and breath. Chat with our estheticians if you can, they are fun!

5- Wear soft, preferably cotton, underwear and loose-fitting bottoms for the appointment.

6- But most importantly: enjoy the freedom and confidence that only a smooth and waxed surface can provide.
